Peruvian lily

The Peruvian lily (Alstroemeria, the Master Gardener informs me) is blooming in the druid labs back yard. A few of its flower stalks have survived the grazing deer, and are putting out these yellow flowers. They’re bright against the greens and rock grays on the right mound, and attracted not only me, but this little bee. He spent a few moments checking things out before zooming away.

To quote my Best Friend Forever¹, “Have I mentioned recently that I love it here?”

Have I mentioned how much I love it here? After four years in druid labs pnw, we haven’t tired of taking the ferry to “the other side of the water”. There’s always something to grab our interest. This is a shot of the Seattle shoreline, taken from the bow of the Bainbridge ferry.

¹But I swear to FSM that if she starts singing “The bluest skies you’ve ever seen“… POW! To the Moon!

an exciting coupleI saw these folk from the front of the Bainbridge ferry as we arrived in Seattle. I’ve seen parasailors before, but this time I wasn’t shooting through ferry windows! This is looking toward southern Seattle.
